Let's change how we discuss and use consent in the wellness industry!

OVER HALF of survey respondents answered YES when asked if they had ever been touched by a bodywork provider in a way they didn't want to be touched. Undesired touch was described as too light, painful or on a part of the body they'd asked the practitioner to avoid, touch that was triggering, and possibly or blatantly sexual touch. At a similar rate, respondents also said they were spoken to in a manner that was critical, shaming, dismissive of their physical pain, suggestive or overtly sexual.

Response outcomes like these are distressing for touch providers who care about the integrity and safety of our work. The majority of unwanted touch stems not from malicious intent but from simple miscommunication. Most touch providers have little or no training in consent protocol. And most of our clients lack the confidence and self-awareness to give us their enthusiastic and authentic consent.

The good news is that we can change this! With a few concrete tools and techniques we can become safer providers and teach our clients how to consent.

Touch Me There!™ training helps you prioritize consent so you can:
  • Improve client agency ("buy-in") in the healing process
  • Increase liabilty protection for your practice
  • Spend more time healing and less time triggering your client
